What Is Notice Pay

Some rights are granted to the employee. Whose employment is terminated after. The dispute between the employee and the employer for various reasons. One of these rights is notice pay.

In indefinite-term employment contracts, if the employee or employer terminates. The contract without any just cause, proof and without complying with the specified periods according. To the relevant article of the Labour Law No. 4857, the compensation that the terminating party is obliged. To pay to the other party is called notice compensation.

In Article 17 of the Labour Law No. 4857, it is stated as follows when the notice period will start:

For an employee. Whose service period has lasted less than 6 months: 2 Weeks (14 days)

For Workers with a Service Period of 6 Months to 1.5 Years: 4 Weeks (28 days)

For Workers with. A Service Period of 1.5 to 3 Years: 6 Weeks (42 days)

For an employee with more than 3 years of service: 8 Weeks (56 days)

The party who fails to comply with these periods must pay the other party a notice in advance.
