WHAT IS THE NEW EXECUTION REGULATION? HAVE OPEN PRISON PERMITS BEEN EXTENDED?
According to the law proposal accepted by the TBMM Plan and Budget Commission;
-As of 31/7/2023, those convicts. Who are on Covid-19 leave as of 31/7/2023, who have 5 years or less left. To be separated to probation. Will not return to prison again and will execute their remaining time under probation.
-Convicts who are in closed penal execution institutions as of 31/7/2023 and have served a certain period of their sentence in these institutions. Will be able to leave for open penal execution institutions 3 years earlier, provided that they are in good behaviour.
-In addition, these convicts. Will be able to be released on probation 3 years earlier. Provided that they stay in open penal execution institutions for at least 3 months according to the duration of their sentences.”
According to the accepted proposal also;
As of 31/7/2023, the obligations of those. Who are on probation and deemed to be on leave will be lifted.
However, if these people commit a crime. They will be taken directly to prison.
All obligations of those who are on Covid-19 leave and who are on supervised. Release with this regulation will continue.”
