according to the Criminal Procedure Code No. 5271 (CMK), criminal procedure is divided into two phases. According to the law, the stage from the fact that the competent authorities are aware of the suspicion of a crime to the adoption of an indictment is called an “investigation“, and the stage from the adoption of an indictment to the finalization of the verdict is called a “prosecution”.
