What is a Protection Measure Order?
Under the Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and the Prevention of Violence Against Women, there are two types of protection measure orders. The first is the protective measure order and the second is the preventive measure order . Protection measure orders are also categorized based on the issuing authorities. These are the protection measure orders issued by the local administrative authority and those issued by the Family Court (Civil Courts of First Instance in places where no Family Court exists). In administrative protection measure orders, the primary authority lies with the local administrative chief. However, in cases where delay may be prejudicial, the law enforcement chief may also issue a protection measure order.
