
CRIMINAL RECORD CERTIFICATE (CRIMINAL RECORD)
The system in which penalties and security measures imposed on individuals based on a final court decision are recorded is called criminal record. In order for the sanction given to a person due to a crime committed by him to be recorded in his criminal record, the court decision must be final. Decisions that are not final will not appear in the criminal record document.
What Information is Recorded in the Criminal Record Record?
1) Prison sentences
2) Deferred prison sentences
3) Judicial fines 4) Short-term prison sentences converted into alternative sanctions
5) Decisions regarding deprivation of the use of certain rights
6) The final conviction decision given by a foreign court about a Turkish citizen
7) Decisions given by the court upon the request of the public prosecutor regarding the deprivation of rights caused by Turkish law.
8) Decisions made due to withdrawal of the complaint or effective regret that eliminate the criminal conviction with all its consequences
9) Decisions regarding the determination of whether the penalty statute of limitations has expired
10) Law on general or special amnesty; Presidential decisions regarding special amnesty
11) Conviction decisions and accessory penalties given in accordance with the Military Penal Code
Information Not Included in the Criminal Record Record
1) Administrative fines
2) Decisions regarding disciplinary or coercive imprisonment
3) Conviction provisions regarding disciplinary offenses and purely military crimes, Criminal Record Record are requested by many institutions in daily life. Driver’s license applications, scholarship applications, job applications, etc.
Where Can People Get Criminal Record Documents?
1) From the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, that is, from the Courthouses,

4) They can get it via e-government. You can obtain your Criminal Record Certificate by applying to the “Criminal Records Directorate” in courthouses, District Governorships and embassies abroad with just your ID. Parents of those under the age of 18 can request this document.
In order to obtain the Criminal Record Certificate via e-government, first click on the “Verify My Identity Now” button on the link https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/adli-sicil-kaydi. You must log in to the system with your ID number and password. After logging into the system, the screen that appears says “I have read the information above.” We select the option and click on the “Continue” button. After filling in the information in the Criminal Record Inquiry Form completely and accurately (type of institution requesting the criminal record document, why the document is given, where it will be given), you can access your criminal record record when you click on the “Inquiry” button. However, the point to be considered here is that the relevant page should not be printed directly. To print out the Criminal Record Certificate, first download the file to your computer by clicking the “Download File” option at the top right. You can print the file you downloaded and submit it to the relevant institution. The document received via e-government has a barcode on it for security reasons. The institution officials who received the document must indicate the Turkish Republic of the document owner. By entering the ID number and this barcode number on the document, the student will be able to verify the original criminal record document by viewing it. The validity period of the Criminal Record Certificate obtained via e-Government is 6 months. You can use this document within 6 months, but some institutions may request that the criminal record document be up-to-date, that is, received at a more recent date.
