When you decide to issue a power of attorney to a lawyer, you must go to a notary public and declare your request, bringing the following items with you:
The Turkish Republic ID numbers of the lawyer or lawyers to whom you are granting power of attorney
Your identity card or passport,
Two photographs if you are granting power of attorney for a divorce case.
Furthermore, if the party granting the power of attorney is a company, the signature circular and authorization document must be presented. If you use the phrase “on behalf of the company” when issuing a power of attorney on behalf of the company, you will have granted power of attorney both for your company and for yourself, and you will not have to go through the trouble of issuing another power of attorney when necessary.
Turkish citizens or foreigners abroad can arrange a power of attorney at Turkish Consulates.
