Credit card expenditure objections can be made by the following methods:

Call Centre: By calling the call centre of the card issuer
Branch By going to the branch of the card issuer
Written Application: By applying to the card issuer in writing
Telephone Application: By applying through the bank’s phone application
In order to file a credit card expenditure dispute, the details of the expenditure (merchant name, transaction amount, transaction date, etc.) must be clearly stated. In addition, documents may also need to be submitted to support the objection. For example, in case of fraud allegations, it is important to submit the document obtained from the application made to the police or prosecutor’s office.

Credit card expenditure objections are evaluated and finalised by the card issuer within 30 days from the date of objection. If the objection is found to be valid, the amount of the objected expenditures shall be deducted from the cardholder’s account and refunded to him/her.

In the evaluation of credit card expenditure objection, the card issuer is obliged to prove the validity of the objection. The cardholder, on the other hand, does not have the burden of proving the validity of the objection.

The cardholder has the right to file a written objection within 30 days against the decision rendered as a result of the evaluation of the credit card expenditure objection. The cardholder also has the right to apply to the Individual Customer Arbitration Committee of the Banks Association of Turkey against this decision.
