WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF CONDITIONAL RELEASE (CONDITIONAL RELEASE)?
The conditionally released convict may be subjected to the supervision period stipulated in Article 107/6 of the CGTIK. The period of supervision envisaged by the CGTIK and to which the conditionally released convict will be subjected is the period of time to be spent by the convict in the execution institution. However, this period may not exceed the date of release by right in the case of term imprisonment. For example, a convict sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for organised crime will be released conditionally if he/she spends two thirds of his/her sentence (organised crime), i.e. 10 years, with good behaviour in accordance with Article 107/4 of CGTI. Although the supervision period of this convict is 10 years to be spent in the execution institution, the supervision period will be 5 years since this period cannot exceed the date of release by deserving in any way.
